Khloé Kardashian gave an update regarding Amari Thompson’s condition in the latest episode of The Kardashians. In case you didn’t know, Amari is the youngest brother of Khloé’s ex-partner, Tristan Thompson. The latter is also the father of Khloé’s two kids, True and Tatum.

During a get-together at Khloé’s house with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, the Good American founder opened up on Amari’s health and the family’s journey in his care. According to Khloé, the 17-year-old “has the most severest type of epilepsy and the worst seizures you can have” and has been recently discharged from the hospital from the harsh effects of epilepsy. The disease is a neurological disorder that could leave permanent disability.

[Amari] has had so many [seizures] before a day that it’s caused such severe brain damage,” Khloé explained to her family. “That’s why he can’t talk or walk or any of that stuff. He’s in really, like in a scary place, [be]cause once he hits age 20, it will be really bad if we can’t have any improvements.”

Kim asked her sister if Amari would go to a physical therapist to help with his condition.

We’re gonna have one come here,” Khloé confirms. “They gave us a couple of recommendations, so we’re gonna go Monday or Thursday of next week.”

Thinking about the matter, Kim realizes that her sister took on this significant role as a caretaker for Amari as it takes lots of time and patience to provide care to a special needs individual. Amari’s and Tristan’s mother, Andrea, provided for Amari’s round-the-clock medical conditions. After she passed away suddenly earlier this year, Tristan took over the role of sole guardian for his baby brother.

“This is, like, a big, huge life change. Tristan is Amari’s sole caregiver, and I just wanna be here to support Khloé and Tristan in any way that they need me to,” Kim said per her confessional.

Kris expressed how compassionate Khloé is about being part of Amari’s life.

Khloé’s compassion for Tristan and Amari is extraordinary. Amari is teaching us a lot of life lessons. Yeah,” Kris reflects in tears as she thinks about how Amari has become such an inspiring part of their lives. “Because when you meet Amari, he becomes part of your soul, and you can’t understand how this happened or why this happened, so hopefully, it teaches my family that, you know, life is a beautiful thing. The fact that my kids, especially Khloé, have stepped up to this extraordinary challenge is a beautiful thing. I’m really proud of Khloé.”

Khloé Kardashian celebrates Amari Thompson’s 17th birthday

In early August this year, Khloé and a few of her family members celebrated Amari’s big 1-7 with a pool party and heartwarming tributes. Kris called him her “angel boy,” while Khloé said he was one of “God’s treasures.
