Britney Spears is getting back at her ex-husband for the claims he has written in his upcoming memoir, You Think You Know, available on October 21. The former dancer decried that his ex-wife is headed to "something irreversible" and is in dire need of help. Federline additionally expressed that he fears that their two now-adult sons, Sean and Jayden, would find her in a devastating situation.
Yet, Britney is refuting Federline's words a day after they were revealed on October 14. The former back-up dancer additionally stated that she had other issues as well, including a dangerous one involving their sons. This allegation was all too much for the pop star, and a representative of hers disclosed a statement to People. In the document, she expressed that his book is only a profit from her vulnerability.
“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again, he and others are profiting off her, and sadly, it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about is her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir, The Woman In Me."
After three years of marriage from 2004 to 2007, Britney and Federline divorced, and he was granted full custody of their children. Following a series of mental breakdowns and erratic behavior due to bipolar disorder, Britney was placed under a a thirteen-year conservatorship, which was ended by the courts in 2021.
Since then, the Grammy winner has been living a low-key life, with her only public outlet being social media. Her Instagram grid is filled with dancing videos, My Melody graphics, and soft content. Scanning the grid was almost seeing Britney's former shell, and she was reclaiming it.

Britney Spears leaves her voice on Kevin Federline
As Federline's memoir will be released on Tuesday, Britney turned to social media (X) to share her side of the story and explain why people should be cautious of what they read online. She left a detailed and emotional essay of her unique situation.
She starts off with the following:
"The constant gaslighting from [my] ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting. I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys [are] complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life."

Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to…
Britney continues with saying how her children saw her in fractionated times and that Federline was feeding them with falsifications of her. She decided to stand up and tell her sons that they need to have respect for her and take account of their actions.
"Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by [their] own father for me. They need to take responsibility for themselves. With one son only seeing me for forty-five minutes in the past five years, and the other with only four visits in the past five years. I have pride, too. From now on, I will let them know when I am available."
Last, Britney confirms that You Think You Know is nothing but a cash grab for Federline and will only harm her light. At the end of the day, she only wants to have privacy, and she's trying to live a life by her own merits. That should be respected, and yet the media is making it difficult for Britney to do so.
"Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank, and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here. I will always love them, and if you really know me, you won’t pay attention to the tabloids [about] my mental health and drinking. I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life for the past five years. I speak on this because I have had enough, and any real woman would do the same."
Despite the negativity, fans across the globe will still dance to Britney's record-breaking music, as it has given them so much joy. Even if she decided not to create another album, we'll support her wishes and hope for the best for her.
