Rob Kardashian isn't as active (if at all) on social media, and you might not see him on The Kardashians, except for a few in-calls with Khloé Kardashian and their mother, Kris Jenner. Rob's preference to have a camera-free life lies on his own accord and not because of beef that he may or may not have with his family.
In the July 16 episode of Khloé In Wonder Land, the podcast hostess sat down and had a rare, in-depth phone conversation with her younger brother, Rob. Although he wasn't physically present, his vocals were more than satisfactory. In his interview with his sister, the star clarified the reasoning behind his leave and put to rest the family feud rumors.
As the only son of Robert Kardashian and Kris, you think that Rob wouldn't get as much attention as his sisters, but that isn't true. In fact, he's close with them. The family's Instagram posts from holidays and birthdays are proof of a tight-knit unity among the members.
"There's definitely nothing wrong between any of us," he said, as he went on explaining the relationship status with his family, in the light of Kris, Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, and Kyle. He affirms that his departure was his decision and his alone.
"It just has everything to do with myself," Rob says, and additionally applied that he feels "uncomfortable" when in front of the lens. During his tenure on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the father of one suffered from poor self-esteem and physical appearance. With everyone looking at you with critical eyes and the media spinning narratives.
"I'm not comfortable in my skin, so why would I wanna go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in? That's not what I [want to do]. I'm not gonna just put myself out there if I'm not comfortable with myself. I haven't been comfortable with myself in years."
There's a possibility though that Rob could return to the spotlight if the right opportunity arises.
Rob Kardashian has completely ruled out reality TV
As the interview progresed, Khloé asked Rob whether he'll grace the TV screens again. Since leaving it behind, he's been concentrating on his daughter, Dream Kardashian and being a strong support in her life. But, he's not saying "never again" to being on TV with his family and connecting with the audiences. The subject matter has to align with Rob's values and whether it would be a positive conclusion.
"No, of course. I mean, I love filming if it's positive and if it's natural and I'm feeling good about myself. Then, of course and I'm comfortable."
Filming has another positive charge too, and that's creating some high quality timg with the family, as Rob points out that he "likes hanging out" with his mom and sisters.
"I like being around my family, so that stuff is good to me. Obviously, I have nothing against [filming]. The reason I don't [do it] is because I'm a homebody and I just choose my peace and happiness."
Sounds good Rob!
