Grammy-winner Christina Aguilera is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her holiday album, My Kind of Christmas. Us Y2K fans know the original magic of the record, as it was constantly played out across the radio and my CD player. I still play it whenever Christmas rolls around, and this year, will be no different. Besides, it feels like everyone, and not just me, want to go back to the 1999/early 2000s era. It was a dominating time in fashion, music, TV, and so much more.
Currently, there's a significant resurgence of this iconic historic time period, as what goes around, comes around. People who were born or just a few years after, or even kids, are discovering the era's drops. And yes, that includes the music of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Christina's My Kind of Christmas was a Billboard Chart-topper when it was released on October 24, 2000. It captured the essence of the Eve's spirit two months later, as the pop star's powerful voice swept across a tidy and warm home. Everyone felt the aura that brought them together.
Not that my home was tidy during the holiday for understandable reasons. But it was what was then.
