Pop sensation Jessica Simpson recently gave a rare comment about working with Kim Kardashian as a guest star in her upcoming Hulu drama, All's Fair. The Texan native is also friends with the SKIMS founder, so that made project felt a little bit more personal and unique.
Entertainment Tonight caught up with Simpson at the American Idol finale, where she performed the Nancy Sinatra track, "These Boots Are Made For Waklin'" alongside Idol contestant, Josh King. Simpson also marked that her duet with King was her first time getting back to music performance scene in a decade and a half, and in March, she dropped her first batch of country-inspired tunes.
Simpson then caught up with the ET reporters regarding her acting gig on All's Fair, reflecting on working with Kim, and her overall experience.
"Filming All's Fair was incredible. I had a blast," the Y2K icon told the outlet. "I did eight hours of prosthetics, so it was very intense. Props to the prosthetics team, and they said I had the most patience of anyone that they ever worked with, so that's a good compliment. I was really [emboding] someone that I'm not, so that was definitely acting."
As far as her friendship with Kim, Simpson said that she felt at ease and "natural" being on the All's Fair set and living close by in the same Hidden Hills neighborhood.
"Kim [and I] live just down the street from each other [and] our kids our best friends. To be on set felt kind of natural. It was fun to work together [as] we've never worked together before. Kim did all the lawyer talk and I did all the whining [for my role]."
In the All's Fair trailer, Simpson is in a blink-and-you-miss-it scene, lasting only two seconds. While we have very little knowledge on the character, she's shown to throw a glass of alcohol in a mad rage. This attribute indicates that Simpson portrays a battered woman, likely on the brink of losing everything as she undergoes a stressful life period or divorce.

Kim will be portraying the high-powered and up attorney Allura Grant, who's one of the faces in an-female legal firm in Los Angeles. The Ryan Murphy-created procedural will have an episode count of nine, and is destined to premiere on Hulu this fall. To make her role as Allura even more personable, Kim graduated from her law program on May 21, so you know that she'll be showcasing her authentic self at times/
Joining the SKIMS founder will be Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson, and Academy Award nominee, Glenn Close.
