Kim Kardashian has traded her dark locks for a warmer red hair color. At least, she did for her latest SKKN by Kim campaign for her new line of matte lipsticks, which will drop later this month. It's a bold choice for the reality star and beauty guru, but sometimes, you have to push the envelope a little to get the word out.

In case you don't know, SKKN is Kim's beauty company, specializing in clean skincare and neutral-toned makeup. Before SKKN, she had KKW Beauty, which offered full-colored makeup and fragrances. I can't tell whether her products work, as I've never tried them. It's not because I don't want to, but because I can't due to hypersensitive skin and allergies. However, I will say that the packaging and products are aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

KKW Beauty was rebranded as SKKN in 2022, and we had to say good-bye to all of those cheerful colors.

Kim Kardashian debuts red hair for SKKN Silk Matte Lip Color

On October 25th, Kim uploaded three carousels of her latest SKKN campaign and hair color. For the hair color itself, she chose a warm garnet tone set in a straight style. We've seen her rock platinum blonde earlier this year at the Met Gala, but the red is more suitable for her complexion, as it brings out the warm tones and her brown eyes.

Don't worry. The color's not permanent; it's a wig styled by Jake Gallagher, one of Hollywood's top hair stylists.

For fashion, Kim kept it simple and went with a black dress with a shawl.

As for the new beauty launch, Kim's releasing a ten piece collection of lipsticks with nude shades, called the Silk Matte Lip Color, and per her first post, they'll be available on October 29th at 9 AM PST. As it turns out, she had been discreetly wearing the product for several months, as a quiet promotion. She's now ready to debut the set to the public.

According to the lip color's page on the SKKN's site, it's priced at $29 and described as such:

"An airy-light, cream lipstick that transforms from a unique buttery texture into a blurred, natural silk matte finish. This second skin formula leaves lips looking smoother while locking in all-day hydration."

The colors range from a pink whisper to a dark mahogany, and depending on your mood and style, there's a shade for them.

In all three of her posts, Kim's wearing the shade in Nude 3, a neutral light pink color. Along with Nude 3, there are nine more to choose from. I like how there's a shade reference chart to see what each one looks like before committing to purchase.

In the final set of snaps, Kim shares some behind-the-scenes polaroids and a clip of her applying the lip color.

"Smooth as silk," she says.
