Kim Kardashian wears vintage Mugler at the 4th Annual Academy Museum Gala
Kim Kardashian made it a night of throwback fashion when she attended the Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala on October 19th. Her choice? A white vintage Mugler corset piece from 1998 coupled with a matching hooded cape. The look echoes the very early New Millennium Era as it makes a strong comeback in the updated world.
We enjoyed the late 1990s/early Y2K style because it was such a transformative period for fashion. You had a little bit of every decade (pretty much) threaded in. The silhouettes of the 70s intermingled with the 80s rocker vibe, and the indestructible spiritual woman shape defining the 40s through the 60s.
Kim Kardashian adds some sparkle to Mugler at the Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala
The event is designed to preserve film artifacts for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, but it is also one of Hollywood's most prestigious nights. The Gala is restricted to an exclusive guest list and isn't televised, but you can expect lots of A-listers to appear and make a statement.
Kim made a statement in her vintage Mugler, pairing it with the cape and translucent heels, and went full-on sparkle with Tiffany Diamonds. The mother of four and aunt of eight wore a diamond necklace with a large light pink stone pendant and coordinating earrings and rings to complete the ensemble. Chris Appleton did her black hair in soft, flowing waves, and her artist, Ariel, did her makeup.
On Instagram, Kim gave a close-up and some behind-the-scenes of her outfit and diamonds, as it takes a whole team to get her Red Carpet ready.
Her sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, are joining her at the Gala. The younger family members wore head-turning gowns, with Kendall sporting her newly blonde hair and a velvet Schiaparelli cutout dress. Kylie follows Kim's example with vintage Mugler. The entire night was dedicated to a sister night, and they never looked better.
