Kim Kardashian is flashing back to the 1990s with Chanel. The reality star and mother of four chose an archival piece from the Parisian fashion house on Sunday, March 2nd- or the 2025 Oscars night. Needless to say, Kim was the star at the Chanel and Charles Finch Annual Pre-Oscar Dinner, and she had every right to be.
Before the Los Angeles event, Kim uploaded not one but two posts of her Goth Glam dress and getting ready with her glam squad on where else? Instagram, of course. As we all know, Kim absorbs in the time to look her best, and she'll bear through the necessary pain to achieve a Red Carpet moment that will become a permanent fashion page. And if you need clarity on Kim's past Red Carpet pain, she reflected on The Kardashians in season 6 on how the silver corset that she wore to the 2024 Met Gala prohibited her from breathing properly and caused bruising on her backside.
Kim Kardashian is a Goth Glam princess in Chanel
One of my all-time favorite fashion trends is Goth Glam. What exactly is this fashion trend, you might ask? Goth Glam is basically haute couture or even everyday style in all-black pieces such as dresses or separates, giving them elegant polish.
It's one of 2025 top styles as it's timeless and classic, and you can express yourself with dark monochromes as much as you could with colors.
In the first of Kim's posts, she shared a behind-the-scenes and glamour Reel of her completed Chanel look. The black corseted dress with spaghetti-thin straps and sheer miniskirt is from 1992 and is silhouetted to Kim's frame. She accessorized the piece with hair extensions and ribbons, a tiny long-strapped handbag, and for minimal jewelry, diamond stud earrings.
On the Carpet, the photographers are eager to capture Kim, and I can see why, because she looks radiant in it.
"CHANEL 1992," she writes for the caption.
In her second post, Kim did a Carousel of beauty snaps and snapshots from Chanel's 1991 Spring Runway when the original dress debuted. She looks years younger, and some said in the Comment Section that the images are "giving 2011 Kim."
"CHANEL," the SKIMS founder supples for the caption.
The final outlook is truly gorgeous and a wonderful callback to the 1990s. Additionally, the pieces are given new a llfe again and they should be, otherwise it would not only be a waste in fashion, but the environment as well.
