Kim Kardashian has a deep love for her Armenian heritage, as it's the blood of her late father, Robert Kardashian, with whom she was very close. She often curates social media on the Armenian Genocide during World War I, where a million people (primarily women and children) perished due to cruelty. Through her advocacy, she continues to be the voice for the victims and hopes that humanity will beat a kinder heart.
During her trip to Italy in late August, Ki paid a visit to the Santa Croce degli Armeni, or the Holy Cross Church of Armenia. The historic Eastern Catholic building, with its beautiful stained glass windows featuring saints and high vaulted ceilings adorned with cherubs and gold eagle accents, dates back to the 13th Century. Venice was a refuge point for Armenians; even before the war, anti-Armenian sentiment was a conflict in the Middle East and the now disestablished Ottoman Empire.
Today, Venice is the home for many Armenians. The Italian city nestled on water offers a foundation and several resources so the the citizens can feel connected to their rich heritage.
Kim Kardashian has a moment of peace while visiting the Armenian church
For Kim and for several people who have experienced hatred in their families, Places of Worship havevprovided a semblance of acceptance and solitude. Even if one isn't deeply religious, they still have respect for them, as it's only humane
Upon her visit to Santa Croce degli Armeni, Kim took the luxury boat, as the church is along the Grand Canal. For this unique occasion, the star looked like someone from the Golden Age of Hollywood. She was dressed perfectly in a black halter summer frock with a small midriff cutout and hood. Kim then kept the accessories to a minimum with large-framed sunglasses and pointed-toe slingbacks.
Once inside the church to admire the architecture and artifacts, Kim threw on an emerald green lace shawl to keep warm from the drafts. Those old buildings are prone to air "leakage" since stone can deteriorate over time. Kim looked beautiful, though, as always.
Following her visit, she then shared her experience with her followers on Instagram on September 4. In addition to the exterior and interior of Santa Croce degli Armeni, Kim included a few Polaroid snaps to remember the journey by and some of herself taking in the sights. This trip was a very special highlight for her, as she's well in touch with her roots.
"Visiting Santa Croce degli Armeni, the Armenian Monastery in Venice, Italy," she writes.
We would love to hear more insight into Kim's heritage connection with the church, as photos sometimes don't do the event justice. Hopefully, this snippet will be part of The Kardashians season 7 and we'll discover even more of the family's background.
