Jump to 2025, and Km is still feeling those Y2K vibes. In her latest Instagram post on August 5, the raven-haired beauty is celebrating with Kourtney and two of her "lifers," Allison Slatter and Simone Harouche. The dark-tinted snap was likely taken with a 35mm camera, as digital photography was not yet mainstream and cellphone photography had not yet been perfected. We managed to survive without these advantages, and there was something so gratifying about waiting to see your photo following that week-long development.
In the photo, Kim is wearing a burgundy leather jacket and frosty eyeshadow. Kourtney keeps up with her sister's style with a bronze halter top. The women are enjoying a night out in LA and drinking bottles of wine. It was a fun escape for them to catch up on life.

The decade was Kim's skyrocket to fame, and although she might have started as a celebrity stylist and organizer in her early career, she had bigger dreams for herself. It helps to know the right people for networking, and timing was critical.
Reality TV was booming, and while making a few appearances on her best best friend, Paris Hilton's show The Simple Life on FOX, Kim developed a taste for it. She figured that her and blended family would be an interesting topic and again, you had to know the right people to help in the magic.
Enter Ryan Seacrest, who was partially responsible for E!'s quick hit, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The current Wheel of Fortune host worked for the network at the time, and it has been reported that he liked Kim and Kris Jenner's pitch about their show. You can formulate a guess about what happened soon after. KUWTK exploded and launched the careers of the famous family. Yet, to be fair, I knew who Kim and her sisters were before then, because of Paris and the Y2K Celebrity Craze.
I don't think we'll ever stop talking about the 2000's, as it was a defining point in our lives. Everything was changing, but it had the right amount of technology without going overboard.We know we can't go back, but we can't help remembering how impactful that decade was.
