Could a new Bratz doll be coming to the store shelves soon? That we don't know, but what we do know is that Kim Kardashian is generating buzz as the lead in the upcoming Bratz movie, based on the popular doll line, which is being produced and released by Amazon MGM Studios.
Deadline was the first outlet to release the news. Kim will not only star as the villain (and she'll make it iconic), but she's also set to produce the film with Picturestart, the second production firm. Amazon acquired the Bratz package in a bidding war, as other studios had also expressed interest in it. Amazon has another Kim Kardashian film in its lineup with an yet-to-be-named thriller.
Lucy McKendrick and Charlie Polinger are penning the script, while Erik Feig and Julia Hammer will produce alongside Kim. The Bratz toy corporation, MGA, and its entertainment division will also have producing roles and credits, as they're embodying the dolls' sassy and fashionable spirits within the feature.
Other than what has been announced, the storyline, remaining cast, release, and characters are under wraps.
Since the 2023 Box Office smash, Barbie, studios are trying to get cash in on toy films. However, fans are seem to be forgetting that there was a live-action Bratz movie back in 2007. The teen-based comedy just made $26 million in earnins against a $20 million budget. It's with hope that Kim's version will bring in more revenue, as advertising has since improved.
Speaking of which, Kim has always been a big fan of Bratz and even dressed up as Cloe for Halloween in 2023. She wore a pink blazer and skirt combo and topped it off with a matching beret. Khloé and their friends, Natalie Halcro and Olivia Pierson, dressed us as the other three fashion-forward dolls.
Kim Kardashian has acted before Bratz
Acting has always been one of Kim's ventures. Although she had appeared in a handful of films in the late aughts, it was when her show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, was skyrocketing in the ratings. She is a woman who can achieve anything she sets her mind to, and whether the public has a different opinion, Kim lets it slide.
Recently, the SKIMS founder has been a part of Ryan Murphy's AHS franchise, portraying a publicist to a fading actress to Emma Roberts' character. This fall, Kim's set to star in Murphy's legal drama for Hulu, All's Fair, and will be screen sharing with Niecy Nash and film veteran, Glenn Close
