Kim Kardashian is going back to the 1990s! In her latest Instagram post, the SKIMS founder shares a tiny snap of her teenage self and is all smiles. It's an innocent nod to her pre-fame life, just a typical teenager seeing the world through her eyes. As we get older, we feel nostalgic, so we like to share our youthful experiences with others.
And really, who could get mad at a young Kim? She was just living her life as best she could, filled with dreams and hopes for the future. She most likely had no idea she'd become the Icon she is today. Maybe she had a vision, but not in the present-day fruition.
Kim Kardashian shares her cute self in 1990s mall photo
How many of us who were teens in the 1990s lived at the malls and explored everything they offered—other than shopping, of course. Kim's no different from us in that era, as it was a symbol of our social life, and there's nothing like shopping in person, as compared to online.
In the Instagram post, Kim holds up a photo booth print, smiling that billion-dollar smile and wearing a crisp white T-shirt. For glam, Kim went with a classic deep burgundy MAC lipstick and long lashes, synonymous with the 90s beauty trends.
Per the caption the reality personality wrote the following:
"Beverly Connection Photo Booth in the 90's."
The photo booth was likely located at Century City Mall in Los Angeles, where Kim and her sisters often visited. It's a host of nearly 200 stores, including Good American, Free People, and American Girl. In an episode of Hulu's The Kardashians, Kim confessed that she and Kourtney used to call a 1-900 party number while at the mall and prank the men on the other line. The sisters watched from a distance when the men showed up for their potential meetups at the mall.
"We would talk to these guys, we would be 15 , and they'd be like, 'Meet me at Blockbuster at the mall,' and we'd see the poor guy, we'd stand them up, and we'd take a Polaroid," Kim said in the season 4 episode in 2023. "We have a book of Polaroids of these guys we would stand up at the mall."
More of Kim Kardashian's teenage 'rebellion'
Don't let the angelic photo booth snap fool you, as Kim was a prankster in her adolescence. For National Daughters Day in 2021, the media mogul did a photo session inside the family's garage and shared the throwbacks with her followers. In the bundle, Kim does several poses, including being in the driver's seat and sitting coolly on vintage arcade games, including one of The Simpsons, which I love.
Kim wore baggy ripped jeans, a white t-shirt, and old-school Adidas. Her makeup was set in a vampy vibe with the sam
In the caption, Kim said she took the fall for Kourtney, who drove around the block without permission in the car, and the younger Kardashian had nothing to do with it. Her sister and friends just influenced her. The photos are an escape from the grounding Kim and Kourtney received from using the car.
Nowadays, Kim is teaching her daughters, North and Chicago, to become their best and authentic selves. When they reach their teenage years, Kim hopes that her girls wouldn't be too rough with her with their antics.
Because all teens have a rebellious period.
