Kim Kardashian visited a letter she wrote to herself back in 2015. The self-reflective one-page memoir highlighted future goals, her daughter North, and predictions for her four sisters. When writing such a reflective piece, it puts us into a "deep think" of how we picture our destined selves
Nearly ten years later, the SKIMS founder "opened" her archived letter in her IG Stories on Friday, January 3rd. While we all followed her and her family then (and now), the document reveals a more vulnerable side to Kim, a side that's rarely shown to the audience. It's not a bad thing, as the trait only makes her more human.
Read along with Kim Kardashian as she writes her iconic 2015 letter
Glamour Magazine recorded a video in June of 2015, and the clip was uploaded to the outlet's respective YouTube channel. It's a time capsule of her hopes, dreams, and now-answered questions. Although much of the content wasn't nearly fulfilled, the words were an aspirational vision.
In the two-minute video, Kim's dressed in a blush pink dress as she types away on her matching MacBook Air. The laptop will hold all of the letter's secrets until it's read again in the year 2025.
At the time, Kim went by Kim Kardashian West, for she was married to Kanye (Ye) West. North was about to turn two, and the reality star was pregnant with her second child, Saint. Soon, her family grew to include Chicago and Psalm.
Here's what the letter to herself and how it compares now.
"Dear Kim, when you read this [letter], you'll be ten years older in the year 2025," Kim starts out with. "I hope this is where you are. When it comes to how you feel about your body, remember to be kind to yourself and enjoy how you look now because you're getting any younger."
"May you continued to feel blessed and grateful."
Regarding her daughter North, past Kim left a reminder to be gentle when she become a preteen. Growing up isn't easy, and the preteen/teen era is one of the worst phases.
"Since North is now 12, I hope you remember that preteens are going through a lot. I know junior high is really tough, so remember to have a lot of patience."
As for her sisters, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie, and Kourtney, Kim didn't leave them out of her letter. For Khloé, the older Kardashian was looking out for her love life.
"I hope Khloé finds her happily ever after and fall madly in love, because she really deserves it."
Khloé might not have found her Prince Charming, but she's pleased with her life right now with her kids, True and Tatum. If the right man comes along, that's great. If not, then that's fine too.
Kim had a different view when it came to Kourtney. The Lemme founder had three kids, and her life was a little different than it is today. She's married to Travis Barker, runs a highly successful blog and wellness company, and became a mom again when she welcomed Rocky Barker in 2023.
But in 2015, Kim made the following prediction regarding her older sister.
"I hope Kourtney is maybe done with having babies. She has a lot on her plate, and I know she doesn't want to stop anytime soon."
Well, at least the latter is true.
Kim's vision for her two youngest sisters, Kendall and Kylie, became real, the former is a world-famous supermodel and the latter is doing her own thing, while being a great mom to her kids.
Sadly, Keeping Up With The Kardashians ceased production on the E! Network in 2021. However, Hulu offered the Kardashian-Jenner family a multi-million contract to keep the cameras rolling. KUWTK was retooled as The Kardashians and featured as much drama and intimate footage as its past counterpart. Season 6 of The Kardashians will be available on the streamer on February 6th.
