SKIMS has entered the jungle with their newest collaboration with the Italian fashion house, Roberto Cavalli. Kim Kardashian and her team are excited about the brand's next launch, and it's going to be the cat's meow. And what's more iconic than Kim and one of the most recognized designer labels in the world coming together?
Other than Kim and Kourtney coming together for the Dolce x Gabbana drop?
Kim's idea was to work with Cavalli to create a one-of-a-kind collection with SKIMS, so she contacted the label's creative director, Fausto Puglisi, to make it happen. The idea, though, stemmed from a vacation memory, when Kim wore one of her favorite pieces- a pair of pants- while catching the waves on a recent jet-set to Mexico.
The mother of four also believes that while on vacation, one should let loose and be free and one way to do that is through fashion. She made it simple enough with SKIMS and the partnership with Cavalli. And you jnow what? Kim's not wrong in her beliefs.
"SKIMS can be really simple; it's all about the fits and the materials, and the way they make you feel," she revealed in a June 24 interview with Vogue. "We were making our own prints, and I was just thinking, ‘You know what? There has to be some way to do a Skims Cavalli collab."
Kim then got in touch with Puglisi and everything fell into place.
Kim Kardashian recruits Kris Jenner for the SKIMS x Roberto Cavalli campaign
The designs from the SKIMS x Roberto Cavalli line include a fierce tiger face, zebra print, and a pheasant with a soft pink floral motif across a sea of turquoise. As for the shapes, shoppers can choose from an underwire figure-hugging dress, swimwear, cover-ups, and accessories. The collection is designed to have that Italian summer holiday and is a callback to some of Cavalli's 2022 archives.
Kim shares her excitement in a press release obtained by Kardashian Dish.
“Unveiling such a luxurious collection with Roberto Cavalli is incredibly exciting. I’ve always admired the brand’s exotic prints, bold energy, and bringing that vision to life through SKIMS Swim allowed us to create something truly unexpected and elevated.”
Continuing, the CEO additionally emphasized with everyone in mind and having the collection be a part in the SKIMS SWIM line.
"We paired Cavalli’s most iconic prints with our signature swim silhouettes to deliver a sexy collection that empowers every body to own swim season, no matter where they vacation."
Joining Kim in the retro-inspired campaign that grooves of the 1960s-1970s Era, is her equally fashionable mother, Kris Jenner. It was a natural fit for the momager, as she has been a fan of Cavalli Plus, the campaign gave the mother and her second-born something to bond over.
"I felt it was really a moment between me and [my mom] and [I] were like, ‘Wait, you have to be in the campaign,’ because Kris Jenner is the moment too," Kim reveals to Vogue.
Nadia Cohen was the photographer who created the campaign stills and film, in which Kim and Kris relax in an Italian villa and jeep while wearing the collection's pieces. We know it's a set, likely repurposed from the Dolce and Gabbana session, but it's very aesthetically pleasing.
