Kim Kardashian turns the young age of 45 today (October 21), and she has accomplished lots of great things throughout her life! 1980: Kim is born
October 21, 1980, in sunny Los Angeles, marked a significant day for Kim, as it was her first day of existence. She is the second child and second daughter of the late Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner. The young girl always knew that stardom was in her future and was always in the camera's lens.
The early-to-mid 2000s: Kim is getting her name out there
If you know Y2K history (besides the bug scare), then you'll know that Paris Hilton reigned the decade. Of course, she had help from her friends, Nicole Richie and Kim. Kim worked as an organizer for the hotel heiress, and often appeared on the reality show, The Simple Life. Wherever Paris went, Kim followed, and soon enough, people wanted to know all about her.
Some might argue that she leeched the fame off of Paris, but that simply isn't true. Instead, she knew the same people as her friend, and worked with them in getting world famous.
2007: Keeping Up With The Kardashians premiere
In 2007, E! launched the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and it was an immediate hit for the network. It centered on Kim and her blended family, whom she referred to as the "Modern Day Brady Bunch."
KUWTK was extended for twenty seasons, produced several spinoffs, and launched the careers of the Kardashians Inner Circle. The show also brought Kris into the spotlight and created a space for woman mangers in entertainment and media.

2007: Kim appears in Fall Out Boy's "Thnks fr th Mmrs" music video
Pop-punk and emo rock music were all the rage in the 2000s, launching a fad known as the Emo Scene. If you were one of the members, I applaud you. In 2007, the Chicago-based rock band Fall Out Boy was at the peak of their fame, with several tunes already rolled out.
In the iconic music video, "Thnks fr th Memories," Kim portrayed the flirty girlfriend of Pete Wentz, and at the end, dumps him for a cheeky chimp. It's hilarious, seeing how it undertones the metaphor that men and women are animals.
2013: Kim becomes a mother to North West
On June 15, 2013, Kim welcomed her first daughter, North West, to her then-husband, rapper Kanye West. In true Kardashian fashion, Kim's pregnancy and birth were a media circus. Her journey to motherhood was documented on KUWTK, and several news outlets from around the globe were on 24/7 alerts. North was already dominating the world, and she wasn't even born yet!
For her arrival, instead of baby gifts, Kim asked her followers and fans to make donations to the Chicago Children's Hospital, so that other children can receive medical care.
2014: Kim marries Kanye West
After years of being friends, dating, and North's birth, Kim and Kanye exchanged vows in Italy. She wore a custom-designed wedding gown by Givenchy, as did her daughter. Guests were treated to a 7-foot-tall wedding cake, performances by Andrea Bocelli and Lana Del Ray, and some of Italy's finest accommodations.
Throughout their time together, Kim and Kanye welcomed three more children-Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. The couple was considered Hollywood and pop culture royalty, as the press absorbed every moment of their lives. If you know, you know.
But the marriage didn't have a happy ending. Kim filed for divorce in 2021, and the divorce was finalized in 2022. According to her interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast on October 15, she revealed to host Alex Cooper that being married to Kanye was "toxic" at times and that she felt "unsafe."

2019: Kim launches her shape wear company, SKIMS
Kim ventured into the fashion world when she launched her shape-wear company, SKIMS. The multibillion-dollar retailer and online commerce store offers underwear and basic clothing staples in every skin tone. In its six short years, SKIMS has collaborated with several notable brands, including Dolce and Gabbana, The North Face, and Swarovski Crystals. The line will continue to acquire more labels to work with and remain profitable.
Additionally, flagship stores have opened across the US, with two new stores coming in Chicago late next month.
2022: The Kardashians premiere on Hulu
The Kardashians are back and more fierce than ever, as the family switched from E! to Hulu, and now are under the Disney umbrella. While the new series experienced a more toned down renovation, the same old family drama is there and so is the love.
Yet, the feuds are intense and that's something that people will gravitate towards, but in essence, The Kardashians continue to be a strong force in the media landscape. It doesn't matter if you love them or hate them, Kim and her family are here to stay.

2025: Kim graduates from law school
After six long years, Kim finally had her dreams as an attorney (she still needs to pass the Bar) coming true when she graduated from her law apprentice program back in May. Her children and mother surprised her with a party that was planned out by Mindy Weiss with the treats in the shape of graduation hats. It was a day to remember for the SKIMS founder, as this was something that she always wanted.
2025: All's Fair
Kim's actress era is continuing to bloom, as she's set to star as divorce attorney Allura Grant in the upcoming legal drama, All's Fair. Created by veteran TV producer Ryan Murphy and executive produced by Kim, All's Fair follows an all-women law practice with personal issues and secrets. The show also stars Glen Close, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, and Teyana Taylor as powerful lawyers in Los Angeles.
On Kim's actual birthday, Kim met up with her costars for the Paris Disney+ premiere. She wore a vintage icy blue dress from Dior that featured a daring scoop neckline and keyhole back. For a second look, Kim dazzled in black and gold, another vintage piece from Alexander McQueen.
All's Fair will make its debut on Hulu on November 4.
