Lindsay Lohan, one of the superstars of the Y2K Era, is revisiting the time period with Jamie Lee Curtis for the premiere of their Disney movie, Freakier Friday on Tuesday, July 22 in Los Angeles. The comedy is a sequel to 2003's Freaky Friday, where Lohan and Curtis portrayed the mom and daughter duo, Anna and Tess respectively.
In Freaky Friday, Anna and Tess nearly have a falling out, due to their generation gaps. Anna repreented the rebellious teenager with her punk rock band, while Tess is the epitome of a conserative mother. Through their switch, they get a better understanding of their lives and resultantly, their bond becomes more concrete.
Flash forward to twenty-two years later, and the actresses are set to reprise their roles. We will follow up with Anna and Tess, as the juggle new life milestones and switch back? We're not going to spill any more details, but Freakier Friday promises to be a blast in the past with a dose of the current times. Remember, social media platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter didn't exist in 2003, so its interesting to have these pop cult and tech innovations incorporated into the film.

Lindsay Lohan is that Y2K It Girl at the Freakier Friday premiere
Lohan attended the premiere with her husband, Bader Shammas, in a baby pink prom-styled dress accented with crystals and a low sweetheart neckline. To add even more sparkle, the actress accebted her Y2K look with a microphone- a nod to her onscreen character "rockstar" image and a diamond necklace. Her golden blonde hair was syled in cascading waves and rested on shoulder.
Curtis wasn't the only one Lohan met up with at the event. She also reunited with her 1998 Parent Trap costar (and onscreen nemesis) Elaine Hendrix. In essence, the night was all about Lohan, and she owned it. The Disney films (and Mean Girls) wouldn't be the same without her as she was the light of those classics and defined a new generation of child celebrities.
To avoid the intense pressue of young stardom, Lohan stepped back from the industry for a while to concentrate on being a normal teenager and getting an education. Following the success of Mean Girls in 2004, Lohan became a tabloid favorite and was often with Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Despite being nearly 6 years her senior, the women were friend ruled Y2K with a bang.
