The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, or the VMAs, was a massive night for fashion, as the guests arrived and performed in their best attire. The central theme was silver with a retro look, dating back to Y2K and the 1990s, respectively. Silver was the hue of the night, which matched the coveted Moonman statue the nominees were all vying for.
Taylor Swift made history when she took her third year in a row Moonman for Artist of the Year. She also won Song of the Summer and Best Editing for "Fortnight. But it wasn't all about the wins; it was also about the glamour of fashion.
We're taking a look at the five best ladies at the 2024 VMAs. See who was chosen!
5 best dressed women at the 2024 MTV Video Music Video Awards
Paris Hilton
Designer: Celia Kritharioti
The BFF of Kim Kardashian took it back to the early 2000s in her silvery and glittering knee-length dress with daring cutouts and matching pumps. For glam, Hilton wore a smokey eye, frosted lips, and wet-wavy blonde locks. For accessories, the heiress sported matching jewelry, including a multi-strand choker, and a tiny clutch.
Now, all Paris need was a tiny dog and her look would've be 'that's hot.'
Sabrina Carpenter
Designer: Bob Mackie (vintage)
Carpenter won her first Moonman for Song of the Year for "Expresso." But did you know that she wore the infamous Bob Mackie original gown that icon Madonna wore in 1990? That was 34 years ago, and the dress has remained classic and gorgeous since its debut.
The 25-year-old accessorized the gown with a diamond-drop necklace and matching nails. Carpenter's blonde hair was styled in soft curls, and she lined her lips with a deep red.
It was very "Material Girl."
Katy Perry
Designer: Who Decides War (Spring 2025)
The "Roar" singer won this year's Video Vanguard Award and Best Iconic Performance. For her look, she wore a two-piece gown consisting of a one-shoulder cropped top and a long skirt with a shredded design. The pieces are from the Spring 2025 line by the designer Who Decides War. It's giving major mermaid vibes, and to enunciate our point, her black hair is styled in damp-looking waves.
Perry's plus-one was no other than her fiancé and the father of their daughter, Daisy, Orlando Bloom.
Hailee Berry
Designer: Sophie Couture
The Little Mermaid actress swapped her red hair for a shimmering red gown with a fringe hemline. She kept the accessories simple with strappy-heeled sandals and bracelets.
Taylor Swift x2
Designer: Dior (yellow dress)
As the night's biggest contender, Taylor fashioned two incredible looks! For her Red Carpet arrival, the "Shake It Off" songstress wore a custom Dior dress in yellow plaid and thigh-high boots. A gothy-glam makeup palette was applied that made her blue eyes pop. She completes the punk aesthetic with yellow diamond earrings by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, who worked with the Kardashians and other top names.
For her second look, Taylor went more on the space theme and dressed in an intricate green and blue beaded mini with a UFO design. It's 1999 Millennial for sure, but Swifties are wondering if the piece has to do with her "The Tortured Poets Department" song "Down Bad," which is about alien abduction and finding your own space.
We think all the ladies nailed it at the VMAS this year!
