The Kardashians: Kourtney Kardashian has anxiety over upcoming Australian trip
Kourtney Kardashian may live her life in the public eye, but she has barriers to who deserves a glimpse into her private one. In the July 11th episode of The Kardashians, the Poosh founder expressed her building anxiety concerning her upcoming two-week-long trip to Australia (it was in February). She and her four children will join her husband, Travis Barker, as he goes on tour with his band, Blink-182.
But Kourtney's anxiety is focused on her; it is focused on her children, especially her youngest, Rocky Barker, whom she welcomed in November 2023. As far as we know, this is Rocky's first international trip, and his privacy is sacred to Kourtney, as all her children are. Understandably, her fear is spot on because when you're a parent, it's no longer about you but the life you created and what you must do to protect your kids.
Kourtney Kardashian spills her anxiety on The Kardashians
Kourtney stopped by her mom, Kris Jenner's house, for her "farewell to her ovaries" party, but she missed it by a few minutes. Her visit wasn't in vain as she voiced her qualms regarding her trip, especially the lack of paparazzi laws.
"I'm starting to get a bit of anxiety about going to Australia," the mom of four revealed in her confessional. "Rocky hasn't been seen, and in California, there's a law that if I don't show the baby's face, the paparazzi [has] to blur his image. But in Australia, supposedly, there are no paparazzi laws. So, they can take a photo, and [you] know, sell his image."
Kourtney's stress is accurate and authentic because only a parent should decide who can share their baby's photos, let alone sell, as the world is a terrifying place, filled with very ill-intentioned people, and the photos will only pose a dangerous threat, making the children an easy target.
Her stress doesn't stop with the paparazzi; traveling on a commercial flight, and not privately, elevates it. The family travels via private jets whenever the time calls them, but Kourtney prefers to lighten her carbon footprint and travel like us regular passengers. I give her much accreditation because not many celebrities want to fly commercials due to being recognized and having their privacy invaded.
"I think even knowing that we're going on a plane with a lot of people," Kourtney added." I'm just feeling really protective. [It's] just a lot to think about."
Kourtney's bringing all her children on broad, but one has objections in regards to traveling to the "Land of Downunder" and it's Mason. The oldest child of Kourtney and her ex-partner Scott Disick is a teenager, and going on family trips doesn't faze him. However, Kourtney's the parent in the situation and she'll have her say in it.
Mason isn't like, wanting to come because he's a teenager and wants to be with his friends, with his his dad, and I don't [want to] not see him.," she shares regarding her son.
Kim had some key advice when it came to convincing her nephew to go with his mother, even if he's at that age where he wants to live by his own terms.
"What if I just say, 'It's too bad that you're not going because I was going to tell you [about] all the cool places to go. This is what you should do, and you should really reconsider.'"
Kourtney enjoyed her sister's input, since it made perfect sense, and not only did she want Mason to explore a new country filled with some of the world's most exotic animals, but to create memories with his mother and his siblings.
In her confessional, Kim shared that having kids who are close to your sisters' kids ages is a blessing since one could fill in to supervise when one cannot at the time.
"The good thing about having sisters that are close with our kids and love our kids like our own is when I'm having a hard time with North, she'll go over to Kourtney's and help me out. And when she's having a hard time with Mason, he'll come over to my house, and I'll help her out and talk to him. We tap each other out."
Kourtney further elaborated that it takes a village to raise a family, and with her and Kim's oldest children being close in age, the sisters can depend on each other's help in conflicted situations.
In February, Kourtney chronicled her time in Australia and was "grateful" for the "beautiful" memories made.
