Taylor Swift is so ready to enter her next music era, and so are the Swifties. Just a day after the pop star announced her new album on the New Heights podcast, The Life of a Showgirl, she revealed its cover art, date, track listing, and a surprise collaborator who added their own magic to Taylor's work. As we mentioned previously, The Life of a Showgirl has been in the making since August 2024, and now, come October 2025, it will be ready for the public.
As we're only a little less than two months away from the release, Taylor dropped a colorful, if risqué, photoshoot of the album's artwork on Instagram on August 13. The first image reveals the cover art, where she's wearing a sparkling diamond outfit and partially submerged underwater. Then, Taylor dons an orange feathered headpiece, while being illuminated in the same hue of lighting to bring out the ferocity.
The photos are even more vibrant and edgy, featuring more feathers, predominantly in pink, which nearly overpower Taylor. The only way we can spot her is by her black wig and heels. A blood-red, corseted look then follows it, and finally, a very Moulin Rouge-inspired display where Taylor showcases her dancing skills while wearing a revealing diamond ensemble, enhanced by faux fur tufts.
"And baby, that's show business for you," she writes.
Here's when The Life of a Showgirl is coming out
Swifties might want to mark their calendars with a big orange circle for October 3, as that's when the new album is set to drop. It's already available for preorder in various formats, including vinyl, audio cassettes, and CDs, on TaylorSwift.com.
The album has been produced by Max Martin and Shellback, who worked with Taylor in the past on her other albums.

What Taylor Swift said about the color orange for The Life of A Showgirl

During the New Heights podcast, Taylor emphasized why she chose to incorporate the warm shade into her album. It also holds a level of symbolism for her, representing how she managed to conquer the perils, as well as celebrate the triumphs.
"It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt. And this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.”
The Life of A Showgirl will be released on October 3.
