Kris Jenner and the Kardashians are forever linked to the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and the trial of O.J. Simpson.

It’s no secret that Kris Jenner’s late ex-husband Robert Kardashian defended O.J. Simpson in the murder trial of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson. Now, more than 20 years after the shocking death of her close friend, Kris revealed that she may have been with Nicole when she bought the gloves that became such a key piece of evidence in O.J.’s trial.

The Simpsons were close friends of the Kardashians back then. They were so close that O. J. Simpson even came to the hospital to congratulate Kris after she gave birth to Kourtney according to The Hollywood Reporter. The families were so close that Kris’ kids called O.J. and Nicole their “aunt and uncle” even though there was no real relation.

That’s why Kris Jenner’s claim that she was with Nicole Brown Simpson on a New York City trip when she purchased a pair of leather gloves for O.J. Kris says that the women went shopping at Bloomingdales when the gloves were picked out as a gift for the fallen NFL star. While she’s not sure if that is the pair or not, Kris recently confessed that they may be the leather gloves that appeared during the O.J. Simpson trial. It was that key piece of evidence that is credited with Simpson being acquitted for the murders of Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman.

Kris Jenner spoke at length about her friendship with Nicole Brown Simpson on the “Awards Chatter” podcast. In addition to her claim that she may have witnessed the purchase of the most famous pair of gloves in recent history, Kris also said that Nicole confided in her. The Kardashian-Jenner matriarch said that before she was brutally murdered, Nicole told Kris that she was afraid that O.J. might kill her.

Johnny Cochran is often quoted for his famous, “If the gloves don’t fit, you must acquit” line from the O.J. Simpson trial. It seems logical that, with Kris Jenner being so close to Nicole Brown Simpson, that she may have taken the stand for her friend. However, since Robert Kardashian was leading O.J.’s defense team, that just wasn’t possible.

It wasn’t until several years after the O.J. Simpson trial that Kris Jenner and her famous brood made their TV debut with Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Soon after, the Kardashians became household names after Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with Ray J was made public. Nothing has been the same for the Kardashians and the Jenners since.
