LaVar Ball says his family doesn’t compare to the Kardashians
LaVar Ball recently responded to comparisons between his famous family and the Kardashians.
LaVar Ball seems to have popped up out of nowhere around the time NBA fans started talking about the 2017 NBA Draft. Ball has become a polarizing figure who often speaks his mind, even when he doesn’t agree with anyone else.
Lately, people have been calling the Ball family the “Kardashians of basketball.” What’s even funnier is that LaVar Ball has been compared to the Kardashian’s momager Kris Jenner.
Magic Johnson made the comparison first last month when he said that LaVar was like the Kris Jenner of basketball. Soon after, TMZ ran a headline about LaVar going “full Kardashian” during one of his famous rants.
Maybe he’ll help create a whole new title for his role. Dadager? Is that a thing?
It turns out that LaVar Ball is not a fan of that comparison and he’s got plenty to say about it. TMZ Sports managed to catch up with the Big Baller Brand founder and asked him what he thought of the Kardashian comparison.

“I ain’t no Kardashian, I ain’t Kris Jenner. We the Balls, welcome to the Ball era,” Ball retorted.
Despite Ball’s insistence that his family has nothing in common with the famous reality TV family, it turns out that they have a lot in common. For starters, all the kids in the family have names that start with the same letter. In LaVar’s case, his up and coming stars are named Lonzo, LaMelo, and LiAngelo.
It’s also easy to make the Ball-Kardashian comparison because LaVar has been making some major headlines over the last few months. The patriarch of the Ball family has managed to insult and start feuds with several major NBA stars and even a few NBA legends.
LaVar Ball has traded barbs with LeBron James and Charles Barkley. Most recently he’s been going back and forth with Joel Embiid, who got so flustered with the Big Baller Brand boss that he got fined after remarking, F**k LaVar Ball” in response to the former college basketball player’s digs.
Possibly the most inflammatory thing LaVar Ball has said since he fell under the constant gaze of the media was directed at Michael Jordan. Lonzo Ball’s dad claimed that he could beat the NBA legend in a game of one-on-one.
If nothing else, the one thing that LaVar Ball has in common with the Kardashians would be the size of his ego. Then again, his might be bigger.
