Ever since Kim Kardashian launched KKW Beauty, she’s been surrounded by controversy and criticism.

Kim Kardashian’s new KKW Beauty line is under fire again. This time around, Kim is being sued by another beauty brand owner who doesn’t want the reality star using her own initials to sell beauty products.

Kirsten Kjaer Weis says she was there first, making beauty products using her now-famous initials KKW. Then entered Kim Kardashian, who Weis claims swiped her design ideas. Weis claims that similarities between their logo and designs

Weis claims that similarities between their logo and designs go beyond having identical initials. According to TMZ, the Danish makeup artist believes that Kim Kardashian knowingly used logos and designs in her packaging that look too close to what she’s been doing. Because of that, she is suing.

It all started with claims that Kim Kardashian was in black face as she introduced KKW Beauty. It turns out that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was just really tan, by her own explanation.

Kim continued dealing with her contour line drama when customers complained that the products didn’t work as well as they thought they should. That’s when Kim Kardashian started offering up tutorial videos to show fans that she even uses her own KKW Beauty line.

Now,  Kirsten Kjaer Weis wants a judge to block Kim from even using her own initials to sell the popular contour kits and other flesh toned beauty essentials. On top of that, Weis wants a piece of Kim Kardashian’s profits.

This isn’t the first time that someone in the Kardashian-Jenner clan has been accused of copying from another entrepreneur. Kylie Jenner has been accused of ripping off her dripping lips design from another makeup artist on Instagram. Likewise, Khloe Kardashian also faced criticism over her new bodysuit collection because another designer claims that she ordered several pieces from her own collection before introducing a similar piece of clothing.

As for the KKW Beauty lawsuit, some critics wonder how  Kirsten Kjaer Weis might fare against Kim Kardashian in court. After all, Weis’ products aren’t really comparable to Kim’s. Weis boasts eco-friendly makeup while Kim’s line is all about neutrals – nudes and flesh tones. The two products aren’t really in competition with either other. The only thing they seem to have in common is their name, which is based off their

After learning about the KKW Beauty lawsuit, sources from Kim Kardashian’s camp have talked to TMZ. They say that Kim consulted with trademark attorneys and did what she legally was obligated to do in order to make use of the KKW Beauty name. They are confident that Kim didn’t violate any trademarks and that the lawsuit won’t go anywhere.
