Kylie Jenner’s latest drama on her KUWTK spinoff Life of Kylie is all about her multi-million dollar cosmetics company and those trying to cash in on it by releasing fake lip kits. During the episode, Kylie and her best friend Jordyn Woods go on an adventure as they try to track down the fake makeup.
Jenner has always been obsessed with makeup. She’s been pretty vocal about it and even recalls being very young while wearing some relatively adult products like purple eyeshadow and brightly colored lipsticks.
It makes sense that she would move on to own her own company, Kylie Cosmetics. While Kylie has talked about becoming a CEO at just 19-years old, she’s doing a great job with the growing company. Kylie Cosmetics was recently valued at $420 million and Fortune reported that it’s on track to become a billion dollar business.
Jenner revealed that her booming cosmetics business really started because of her insecurity over her small lips. She revealed that she would buy lip liners to draw herself a puffier pout but that the liners never matched the lipstick all the way so she decided to start making her own. The Kylie Cosmetics lip kits are one of the hottest selling products that Kylie pushes.

When a company becomes big and popular the way Kylie Jenner’s has, copycats come out of the woodwork. We saw that in the recent episode of Life of Kylie when Kylie and Jordyn went out in search of the fake lip kits that have been causing some trouble for those who bought them.
“I just feel a responsibility to take matters into my own hands,” Kylie said on her show.
There have been reports that the fake Kylie lip kits contain dangerous substances like gasoline and glue that have been causing users’ lips to swell up and blister.
When Kylie and Jordyn pulled up to one spot that had reportedly been selling the fake lip kits, Jordyn was swarmed by paparazzi. All of the cameras made it hard to buy the knock offs because the seller got nervous with all of the cameras around.

They should have been nervous too because selling counterfeit products isn’t legal. Kylie made it clear that she just doesn’t want people to think those products are something she is okay with. In the future, it looks like Kris Jenner will be helping her youngest daughter out and they’ll be coming after the fakes with a lawyer. Fake lip kit sellers have been warned!
