Is Kim Kardashian trying to score a royal wedding invite?

Kim Kardashian sent an extravagant engagement gift to Meghan Markle and we can’t help but wonder if the KUWTK star is looking to score an invite to the royal wedding. 

It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian already sees herself as royalty. She even idolizes former First Lady Jackie Kennedy and to be honest, those claims that Kanye West is going to run for president might actually be real. That would end up making American royalty out of Kim, as if she isn’t already regal enough.

That’s why it would be easy to believe Hollywood Life and their report that Kim Kardashian is trying really hard to become best friends with Meghan Markle. After all, she is getting ready to marry Prince Harry, something many women have been trying unsuccessfully to do for years.

But are Kim’s overtures really that shallow or is there more to the story? It seems as if Kim wanting to be friends with Meghan simply because she’s about to marry into the British Royal Family are just a little bit silly. She has plenty of friends and certainly doesn’t need to rise into any additional social circles. Maybe she just wants to meet Queen Elizabeth?

The gossip rag claims that Kim tried to befriend Kate Middleton and Prince William but that it just didn’t work out. This time around, there are claims that Kim isn’t holding back in her hopes to ingratiate herself into the royal family.

Anyway, it turns out that Kim reportedly gifted the soon-to-be princess with a pair of diamond earrings. What makes them even more special is that the earrings are meant to match Meghan’s royal engagement ring, making her gift very thoughtful and beautiful at the same time.

Hopefully, Meghan Markle will enjoy her thoughtful gift from the KUWTK star more than Beyonce reportedly enjoyed her baby gifts when her twins were born. (Don’t forget that she reportedly gave them away to hospital staff.)

Whether Kim gifting Meghan will lead to their friendship is still to be determined. They do seem to have a lot in common aside from Kim’s love of the cameras and Meghan’s lower key personality. Both women have worked to right wrongs in the world.

Meghan is well known for her philanthropy all over the world. That’s just one of the things that attracted Prince Harry to the Suits actress in the first place. Markle has her hands in a lot of causes and is known for her humanitarian work.

Likewise, Kim Kardashian has also been very vocal about causes she believes in. She also is known to put her money where her mouth is, making contributions to many causes including disaster relief as well as hiring lawyers to help free Alice Johnson and Cyntoia Brown, two women who have been sentenced to unnecessarily long prison sentences compared to their circumstances and their crimes.

Given the level of controversy and backlash over the announcement of Meghan Markle’s engagement to Prince Harry, it’s entirely possible that Kim Kardashian just wanted to show her support as well. It doesn’t necessarily mean she’s trying to be best friends with the star. It’s more likely that she understands the level of hatred and racism that still runs rampant and just wanted to show her support for the new couple.

If they did start hanging out though (which is highly unlikely) it wouldn’t be awful to see Meghan Markle tooling around with Kim Kardashian. They’re both lovely women with great style and even greater hearts. They might actually make great friends and be able to collaborate on some world-changing projects together.
