Anytime Kim Kardashian drops a new line of merchandise, there’s a long line of KarJenner fans waiting to get their hands on her latest launch. However, there’s one person who definitely won’t be copping a piece of the Kardashian empire. Jameela Jamil, who’s been incredibly outspoken about the famous family in the past, just shared more criticism.
Jamil took an aim at Kim’s new shapewear release, saying that her SKIMS maternity-wear contributes to a negative perception of pregnancy bodies.
“Lot of talk on the internet today about pregnancy shapewear,” she began before launching into a lengthy message, writing on Instagram:
I wish we could just Normalize just focusing on the inside of a pregnant body, not the outside. You don’t need your shape corrected or hidden. You don’t need an even more awkward obstacle between you and a piss. You just need to try and ride with this miracle and do your best to be as happy/comfortable as is possible within your circumstances. Pregnancy is hard enough, with enough worries already.
The actress then pledged to be as authentic as possible if she ever experiences a pregnancy journey of her own.
“If I ever have a baby I’m welcoming the stretch marks, the new curves and I’m sure as shit not gonna rush to try and snap back, I’m just gonna let my body heal from the Massive event that has occurred inside my body,” she assured fans.
Jameela Jamil’s comments arrived on September 12, one day after Kim announced her new SKIMS line. In an Instagram post, KKW promised her maternity shapewear, “offers the best in comfort and support for your changing body during and after pregnancy.”
Meanwhile, for those who are on board with maternity shapewear, Kim’s new line hits the SKIMS site on Wednesday, September 16.
