How Sofia Richie’s family reportedly feels about new flame Matthew Morton

Sofia Richie is apparently moving on with a new man, and it sounds like he’s already got the thumbs up from her family! According to a new report from Us Weekly, the model’s famous family, including dad Lionel Richie, approves of her new beau.

“Matt and Sofia are totally a thing, and he’s really excited about it,” an insider revealed to Us Weekly. “They both run in the same circle and have known each other. So, it’s easy and fun for both of them. Sofia’s family approves of him, which is super nice for her.”

While Sofia’s closest kin are supportive of her newfound romance, it sounds like the same couldn’t be said with her last relationship. According to the source, they’ve been telling Sofia to move on from Scott for some time.

“They have been advising her to do her own thing, especially during the quarantine,” the insider said. “She has been separating herself from the equation and it has been the healthy thing for her and her family.”

Thankfully for Sofia’s family, it seems like she and Scott are done for good. Since breaking up in the spring, the Flip It Like Disick star briefly reunited with Sofia in July, but they ultimately called it quits again a mere few weeks later. Sofia and Matthew then sparked dating rumors in mid October when they were seen dining together at Nobu restaurant in Malibu, California.

Meanwhile, Scott is said to be moving on himself. He was spotted out with model Megan Blake Irwin on October 15.

Things are still new for Sofia and Matthew, but slow and steady wins the race. And as the happy pair continue to get to know each other, Sofia’s family is supporting her all the way.
