He’s from the UK, not the US
Chris was born and raised in the United Kingdom, particularly in Leicester and London. His date of birth is June 14th, 1983, making him forty years old and the Twin Sign, Gemini. He has four siblings and is close to his mother, Jane Mary Appleton, whom he styled her hair when he was nine years old. Not only did she look better, she felt better about herself, making the young Chris realize his life’s fate.
“I remember every time she looked in the mirror, she was taken aback by how different she looked,” Chris revealed to POPSUGAR UK in 2020. “She’d stand up a bit taller, her shoulders would go back, and then I realized, ‘Wow, you can make people look good, but you can also make them feel good.’ That’s where it all started for me.”
He got his first hairstyling job at a salon at thirteen and worked to the top of the hair game.
Chris met Kim Kardashian in 2016
While he has worked with many famous clientele, such as pop superstars Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, and Jennifer Lopez, Chris is best known for being part of Kim’s Glam Squad, and the two first met in 2016 when Kim called him over to do her hair. From that point forward, Chris collaborated with Kim on different hairstyles, including her “Just Walked Out Of The Sea” look at the 2019 Met Gala.
Earlier this year, the socialite presented Chris the “Hair Artist of the Year Award” for his meticulous work and dedication.

Chris is a father of two kids with his ex-wife, Katie Katon, whom he met and worked with in London. He shares a daughter, Kitty-Blu, born in 2005, and a son, Billy, born in 2003. Following his divorce in 2009, Chris came out as a gay man but made sure his children were comfortable with the fact before publicly announcing it.
Kitty-Blu took after her parents in the beauty industry by becoming a makeup artist and usually partners with her dad when working with clients.
Chris was married to White Lotus actor Lukas Gage
After a month-long romance, Chris and twenty-eight-old Lukas Gage got engaged and then married in Las Vegas in April 2023. Kim, who is a licensed Marriage Officiant, married the men at The Little White Wedding Chapel, the same one where Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker first wed. Before Chris and Lukas exchanged rings, they were surprised with a private Shania Twain concert performed “You’re The One I Want.”
Their wedding and concert were highlighted in last week’s The Kardashians episode. Chris and Lukas were wildly and passionately in love, grateful for Kim’s honoring and being surrounded by loved ones.
Sadly, Chris filed for divorce from Lukas after nearly seven months of marriage on November 13th, citing “irreconcilable differences,” as reported by TMZ.
