Kim Kardashian is expanding her acting resume as Hulu approved the pilot for the comedy Group Chat. She will be front and center of the comedy, based on La La Anthony's 2014 bestseller, The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness, and will also star Anthony in a central role.
Group Chat is the freshman show that will be executively produced by Kim under her multi-year contract with 20th Television, according to Deadline, who first reported the news. Filming for the comedy will begin sometime soon, and if given a complete episode order, it will go into series on Hulu. Group Chat is written and also executively produced by Kenya Barris, who created the ABC comedy Black-ish.
Currently, Kim's already wrapping up work on All's Fair, a legal drama curated by Ryan Murphy for the streamer. It's set to drop sometime this year, and Niecy Nash and Glenn Close will have roles alongside Kim. All three women portray high-powered attorneys in Los Angeles and take on huge cases.
Kim previously worked for Murphy onĀ American Horror Story: Delicate, portraying a no-nonsense PR agent named Siobhan Corbyn. Although Delicate was one of AHS's weaker seasons, Kim delivered with her acting ability, stealing every scene she was in. She collaborated with Emma Roberts, and since completing AHS, the women are piecing together a Netflix drama named Calabasas. At this time, no date has been set for its premiere.
What is Kim Kardashian's Group Chat on Hulu about?
Group Chat will be a dark comedy where some deep and dark ominous secrets lie underneath the glamour. On the surface, everything seems okay until the content bubbles over. It sounds like your classic glued-to-the-screen binge, but maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here.
Check out the official description from Hulu below!
"Group Chatrevolves around five fly, successful women in their 40s who have conquered L.A. and seemingly have it all. But behind their picture-perfect lives is a secret group chat where the real drama unfolds. In their world, the truth is messier, more unfiltered, and juicier than anyone could imagine."
Will Kim pull off another successful acting job with Group Chat? She has succeeded in everything she has done, and if she genuinely wants another checkmark next on her goal list, she'll have no problem with her accomplishments.
