Kim Kardashian arrived at the Met Gala 2025 in grandeur on May 5. This year's exciting and fashion-forward theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," and she looked great and ate it up. But, of course, Kim would, as fashion is one of her many traits.
According to the Met Museum's February 4 Instagram post, the theme is described as "a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism."
The Met Gala honors Black people through fashion, whether they made a mark in history or have permanently set a fashion trend. However, it's not the clothes that define the person, but the person defining the clothes.

In the past, the mother of four dressed in Bob Mackie (2022), Balenciaga (2021), and John Galliano (2024), the first of which designed the infamous Marilyn Monroe "Birthday Dress." Kim underwent a strict diet and workout regimen and lost twenty-two pounds to fit into the antique 1962 piece. She later slipped on a replica following her Red Carpet walk.
Kim went with the Californian-based designer, Chrome Hearts, for her outfit, which was custom-made to complement her shape. The all-black ensemble featured crocodile-embossed leather with a long train and a double-chain that extended from the front to the back.
The form-fitting dress was also backless and off-the-shoulder, giving off 1940s film noir vibes. For accessories, Kim chose a black fedora hat and diamond necklaces for a touch of sparkle.
Sometime during the Met event, the SKIMS founder uploaded her entire and polished look on her Instagram page. In the series of black-and-white snaps, Kim poses side-to-side and from the front, ensuring that each angle is captured.
"MET GALA 2025 CHROME HEARTS," she writes.
Kim additionally tagged her Glam Squad, including Chris Appleton, who created her dark, cascading locks, and her makeup artist, Mario, who used his own line of products for her beauty. he further credited the fashion label and her photographer.

Kim wasn't the only one who show-stopped the Met. Her two younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner also captivated in custom designs. Kendall dressed in a gray power suit, crafted by Torishéju Dumi, and was inspired by the 1920s performer, Gladys Bentley.
Kylie donned a more softer approach in a black and gray Ferragamo corset dress and pointed-toe pumps.
