Kim Kardashian shows off 'invisible high heels' from the 2024 Met Gala

Leave it to Kim Kardashian to make a timeless fashion statement. The fashion house's Creative Director, John Galliano, curated her custom-crafted silver lace gown by Maison Margiela. Her corseted piece with the simmering metal detailing was one of the best looks from the 2024 Met Gala, which took place on May 6th in Manhattan.

Kim tossed a grey cashmere sweater over her shoulders to accessorize the dress. Although many questioned the choice, the sweater added a touch of coziness and a vintage Disney Princess vibe. And what better way to emphasize the style when this year's Met theme was "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion"? Kim was down for the element.

Now, the reality star has revealed another invisible accessory. In addition to the soft sweater, underneath the floor-length skirt of the dress, Kim wore a pair of clear lucite heels. However, the secret to the special shoes is that they have no heel or stiletto, as Kim showed them off in her May 15th Instagram post.

The shoes are likely from the brand PLEASER, under the name "Craze." What surprised us is that the heels measure eight inches in height and, per the description, "are not recommended for walking." The shoes are priced at $65

Since Kim is 5'2, the shoes put her at 5'10, the same height as her sisters, Khloé and Kendall Jenner. However, there was a reason why Kim wore the risky-to-your-health shoes. The shoes unique heelless design prevented them from getting caught in the dress and ripping it. Then, there's the possibility of Kim tripping and falling down, which is something that we all fear when we're out in public.

Kim elaborated about her heelless footwear to Vogue while prepping for the big night. Her secret to wearing the heels? Balance and tiptones.

"This is my shoe. It's clever because if I had a shoe with a heel, the heel gets stuck in the metal skirt. And so that was our issue of walking. To wear these, you're on your tiptoes and you're balancing the whole time, flexing your calf muscles. That's what I'm gonna have to do is stand on my tippy toes."

Khloé even commented regarding her sister's shoe choice, as it's an usual style.

"Damsel in distress," Khloé said to Kim. "That invisible heel is wild! How did you manage? I definitely would have fallen."

Why Kim Kardashian skipped the 2024 Met Gala after parties

The after parties following the Met Gala are the place to be seen and photographed. Partygoers swap out their Met attire and into another eye-capturing look. It was the case for Kendall when she changed into a white minidress from the late designer Alexander McQueen for Givenchy after 'reawakening' his 1999 piece for the event.

But this year, Kim skipped the after-parties. She had to jet set to Hamburg, Germany, immediately for the 2024 OMR Festival, which took place on May 7 and 8th. The event celebrates all things digital and technology, and Kim was one of the festival's speakers. She admitted to the crowd during her panel that she would rather spend her time there than at the Met parties.

"It was really good not [to go] to all the after-parties. It’s not really my thing to go out, so it was the perfect excuse because I really wanted to come here."
