When one of the biggest pop stars from the Y2K period and the current music scene, you know it will be great. Christina Aguilera and Sabrina Carpenter will collaborate on a track for Aguilera's reissue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her 1999 debut album, Christina Aguilera. The upcoming Spotify special will feature many nostalgic hits, including "Come On Over," "What A Girl Wants," and, of course, the song that made Aguilera a superstar, "Genie In A Bottle."

The multi-platinum-certified album won Aguilera a Grammy in 2000 for "Best New Artist." She has since taken home four more, for a total of five.

Throughout her three-decade career, Aguilera continuously reinvented herself in both fashion and musical styles. At the height of her pop stardom, she shed her bubblegum teen image to a more sexier image for her 2002 album, Stripped. Kylie Jenner even went as the singer for Halloween 2016 by dressing in the replica chaps and striped bikini top from Aguilera's 2022 music video, "Dirrty."

With Christina Agulera celebrating its 25th anniversary, its legacy will be reintroduced, reining in new fans to the singer's incredible discography. Aguilera is one of the best-selling and popular artists of all time, so don't be surprised if you hear her name constantly during the next few weeks.

Christina Aguilera and Sabrina Carpenter to partner for Spotify's 25th Anniversary of Christina Aguilera

Aguilera and Carpenter are more than ready to stretch their vocal cords for the anniversary special that'll drop exclusively on Spotify on September 23rd. The special will feature Aguilera not only working with Carpenter, but also Machine Gun Kelly, with stories behind the original 90's track recordings.

Speaking with Rolling Stone on September 18th, Aguilera highlighted her excitement regarding the Spotify Anniversary Special of her debut record.

"I wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my debut album in a way that brings together the past and present. I’ve always enjoyed reimagining my songs with different styles and audiences, as well as playing with sounds and arrangements that showcase how all music can be timeless."

Ahead of Monday's premiere on the music app, Aguilera shared the special's trailer via YouTube. In the 29-second-clip, the Grammy winner shows off her soprano vocals and dons a glittering gold jumpsuit with matching pumps.

On Instagram, Aguilera uploaded a collaboration post with Carpenter, in which the two women are videographed together. A narrator who suspiciously sounds like Kylie Jenner states she is "obsessed with her mom," with Carpenter indicating that she's the daughter. The camera pans to Aguilera, who then embraces the 25-year-old in a side hug.

Carpenter, for her part, revealed to Paper last month that Aguilera was and still is her icon, having been so since she was 11 years old. Aguilera influenced many of Carpenter's works and sounds. Ironically, the 2024 VMA winner was born the same year Christina Aguilera was released in 1999.

"I love Christina Aguilera. [She} was one of my very first idols and icons. I was 11 years old and you couldn't get her name out of my mouth. She's very special to me. Those songs raised me."

When partnering with Spotify, Aguilera voiced that her time with them unleashed her "sweetest career memories," as per the same Rolling Stone article.

"Recording this project with Spotify was both magical and nostalgic, resurfacing some of my sweetest career memories. I laughed, cried, reconnected with old friends, and made some very special new ones. I hope this anniversary gift is just as special for you to watch as it was for me to make."

Be sure to catch the Anniversary Special on Spotify, available September 23rd!
