Jennifer Lopez, aka JLo, has disappointedly canceled her upcoming summer tour. The multi-city event, titled "This Is Me Now...The Tour," was supposed to kick off on June 26th in Orlando, Florida, and conclude on August 31st in Houston, Texas. All ticket purchases, including Live Nation and TicketMaster transactions, will be refunded.
The tour was a celebration of JLo's ninth studio album, "This is Me Now," and her first one in twenty years, and possibly her last. The tracks include "Can't Get Enough" and "Hearts and Flowers." In companionship to the album, a musical-drama movie, "This Is Me Now: A Love Story," was released on Prime on February 12th. The film and album depicted the romance of JLo and Ben Affleck through the myth of astrology. They were married in 2022.
The tour itself would've been JLo's return to the stage since 2019, when she was promoting her "It's My Party" Tour to celebrate the singer's 50th birthday.
Reports and rumors have stated that the couple, who met and dated in the early 2000s, has been on the rocks and living in separate homes. Neither Affleck nor JLo have confirmed or disputed the reports, but it makes you wonder whether the cancellation of "This Is Me Now...The Tour" had something to do with it.
Jennifer Lopez drops a statement regarding her "This Is Me Now...The Tour" Cancelation.
On May 31st, JLo updated her fans via email and her website about the sad tour news, as many planned to attend one of her shows. Like the album, the "This Is Me Now... The Tour" would be her first in over two decades, introducing new music and old classics, like her 1999 breakout hits, "Waiting For Tonight" and "If You Had My Love."
Per Jenniferlopez.com, the Grammy winner stated the following:
"I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time..."
In another statement on the site, Live Nation gave the reason for the tour's abrupt cancelation.
"Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends."
It's uncertain if JLo will try to patch things up with Affleck during the summer or if it'll be something else entirely. Regardless, we wish her all the best and good vibes.
